Trump’s ally Charlie Kirk shot at campus event in Utah
Charlie Kirk, an activist and President Donald Trump ally, famous for holding debates on campuses in America, has been shot.
Mr Kirk was shot at a campus event in Utah on Wednesday.
The police confirmed the shooting happened at around 12:10 p.m. local time, adding that the suspect is now in custody.
Marina Minas from Turning Point USA, a conservative group founded by Mr Kirk, said, “He was shot in the neck. He’s at the hospital. It doesn’t look good.”
Mr Trump and Vice President JD Vance have urged people to pray for Mr Kirk.
Kash Patel, Federal Bureau of Investigation’s boss, in a post on X, said, “We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.”
He added, “Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly, and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation.”
