Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles diagnosed with breast cancer

Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, has announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, adding that she has commenced treatment immediately. 

In a statement on Monday, Ms Wiles was thankful to her medical team for detecting the cancer at its early stage. She noted that she will remain as the chief of staff despite her condition.

“I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a strong prognosis,” Ms Wiles said. 

She added, “I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.”

Meanwhile, Mr Trump, who was first to announce the diagnosis in a Truth Social post, confirmed that Ms Wiles has a fantastic medical team that is tending to the 68-year-old. 

“She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent!. During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full-time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy,” Mr Trump stated. 

Reacting to the development, Vice President JD Vance, on X, posted “The Vance family is praying for our dear friend as she takes on her next fight!.”
