Turkish security forces have detained 567 people in nationwide operations targeting online child exploitation, illegal betting, and fraud over the past 10 days, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Monday.

In a post on social media platform X, Mr Yerlikaya said 209 of the suspects had been formally arrested, and courts imposed judicial control measures on 112 others.

Legal proceedings continue for the rest.

He said the suspects were accused of crimes including possessing or distributing child abuse material, running illegal betting and gambling operations, facilitating unlawful money transfers, and illegally accessing mobile banking accounts.

The minister said some suspects also used scams, including fake loan offers, bogus investment advice, online product sales, visa applications, and car rental schemes to defraud citizens.
