Two brothers, Dahiru Hammed, 25, Saidu Hammed, 20 and their friend, Mohammed Bahase, 21, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, over an alleged attempt to steal a motorcycle.

The trio, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy and attempted theft.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant Kehinde Olarotimi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 10, at about 1.00 p.m, along Ibadan/Iseyin road.

Mr Olarotimi alleged that the defendants attempted to steal one Bajaj motorcycle worth N750, 000 belonging to one Joseph Adewale.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Adebola Adeola, granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until June 16, for hearing.
