Two men arraigned in Lagos for attempting to steal motorcycle

The men pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

Two men, Kazeem Agboola and Kudus Bashiru were arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court on Monday for attempting to steal a motorcycle belonging to a royal father in Lagos.

Mr Agboola, 30, and Mr Bashiru, 28, are standing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, attempted theft and breach of the peace.

The prosecutor, Simeon Uche, told the court the defendants committed the offence on November 4 at 5:30 p.m.

He said the defendants were arrested at Cele Junction in Iba, Ojo, Lagos while trying to steal a Bajaj motorcycle in the custody of the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Sulaimon Ashade.

The prosecutor told the court that when the defendants were apprehended, they conducted themselves in an unruly manner capable of disturbing public peace.

Following the not guilty plea of the defendants, the magistrate, Ademola Adesanya, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

The defendants pleaded not guilty, and the matter was adjourned till December 1 for mention.
