Two notorious cultists nabbed in Edo: Police

Police on Monday claimed they arrested two notorious cultists and seized ammunition along Auchi-Ekperi road in Edo.
Jennifer Iwegbu, the spokeswoman for the police, said operatives attached to Fugar Divisional Police Headquarters were on routine patrol and stop-and-search operation on Auchi-Ekperi road when they accosted two men, Emmanuel James, 25, and Matthew Oghode, 31,
on a motorcycle.
“Upon searching them, three live cartridges were recovered from the bag in possession of James. The suspect took to his heels into the bush in a bid to dispose of the cut-to-size gun in his possession,” she said.
Mr James was nabbed after a chase by the police.
The suspects confessed to being members of the dreaded Aiye Confraternity, also known as Black Axe, according to the police.
The Edo police command said an investigation was ongoing to arrest other gang members.
