Two suspected hard currency counterfeiters nabbed with fake $270,000 in Abuja

Two suspected hard currency counterfeiters have been nabbed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with fake $270,000 notes in Abuja.
EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren named the two suspects as Johnson Olumoyegun and Tanko Abubakar. He said in a statement that they were arrested on Thursday and Friday, October 6 and 7, 2022 in Kubwa and Area 3 axis of Abuja.
The duo after the arrest were found with a huge denomination of fake American dollars worth about $270,000, he noted.
One of the suspects, Mr Olumoyegun, allegedly impersonated an EFCC officer, using a fake ID card with the name Solomon David, and an ECOWAS passport with the name Isa Bello. The exhibit was retrieved from him.
Mr Uwajaren said the two suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
