U.S. Immigration: ICE agents detain five-year-old boy in Minneapolis

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced that a five-year-old boy, Liam Ramos, was detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Tuesday during an operation to arrest his father.
The family’s lawyer said both son and father were now in custody at an ICE detention centre in Dilley, Texas.
The five-year-old boy who was coming home from preschool was reportedly apprehended by U.S. ICE agents in his driveway.
The superintendent of the boy’s school said ICE used the boy as “bait”.
The Columbia Heights Public Schools superintendent said officers told the boy to knock on the door to his home, “essentially using a five-year-old as bait”.
The lawyer representing the family of the preschooler said the family entered the U.S. lawfully to seek asylum.
However, Vice-President JD Vance denied that the child was arrested and said officers had been targeting his father.
