U.S. police find corpse of missing Nigerian woman in forest reserve

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and the Naperville Police Department, both in the United States, have identified the remains of a Nigerian woman, Olasinmibo Abosede.
Ms Olasinmibo, aged 42, reportedly missing since July 30, was found around 1:55 p.m. in Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, Illinois.
According to reports, Ms Olasinmibo left her home, situated west of Springbrook Golf Course, for a walk, dressed in a long-sleeved black Adidas jacket, grey sweatpants, a black headscarf, and black Crocs.
The Naperville police said officers in the district received a report about the discovery of a dead body with clothing that matched Ms Olasinmibo’s last known outfit.
Reacting, Naperville police chief, Jason Arres, stated that the final confirmation of the found body would be ascertained by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.
Mr Arres said, “While we believe the individual to be Sinmi, the final confirmation will be made by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.”
“We are deeply saddened by this loss and extend our sincere condolences to the Abosede family during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone in our community who assisted with this investigation and for your care and concern,” Mr Arres added.
Earlier, on July 31, the Naperville Police Department, in an official statement, decried the disappearance of Ms Olasinmibo and sought the assistance of the public in locating the victim.
