American rapper Takeoff, a former member of the Trapster trio, Migos, has been confirmed dead after he was shot in the early hours of Tuesday in Houston, Texas.

Multiple reports said that the 28-year-old was shot around 2:30 a.m. when a disagreement broke out at a bowling alley called 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where Takeoff was playing a dice game with his uncle and former Migos leader, Quavo.

In a video making the rounds on the internet, Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari, was seen lying lifeless on the floor while being surrounded by Quavo and another passerby as help was being administered.

TMZ reported that during the altercation, gunshots were fired, and Takeoff was confirmed dead on the scene after sustaining extreme injuries.

Before the shooting, the American rapper posted a selfie from the bowling alley where he was later murdered.

Takeoff’s death becomes the most recent celebrity death associated with public shootings in the States, following the gruesome murder of PnB Rock, a U.S. rapper who was shot dead during a robbery at a waffle restaurant in September 2022.
