U.S. singer Aaron Carter found dead at California home

Singer and rapper Aaron Carter has died at the age of 34. Mr Carter was the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter.
On Saturday, TMZ reported that Mr Carter was found dead in his bath at his home in Lancaster, California.
“Right now it’s a really bad time, we’re trying to figure out what happened and what the cause of it was,” representatives for Mr Carter said. “We’re just as upset as everyone and hope that fans can give thoughts and prayers to his family.”
TMZ also reported Los Angeles County police arrived at the scene at around 11:00 local time (18:00 GMT) after receiving a report of a drowning.
Mr Carter’s career started as an opener for the boy band Backstreet Boys on a 1997 tour. He also had a successful solo career; his debut album, Aaron Carter, was released in the same year when he was just nine years old and attained gold status.
His second album, Aaron’s Party (Come and Get It), was released in September 2000 and went triple-platinum. It featured the singles “I Want Candy,” “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”, and “That’s How I Beat Shaq,”. Mr Carter was the opening act for Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on the “Oops!… I Did It Again Tour”.
He appeared on shows including Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and 7th Heaven. He competed on the 2009 season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and the Food Network cooking battle series Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off in 2012.
