UK arrests, charges Nigerian Oladipupo Atandare, Latifat Yusuf for drug trafficking

Two Nigerians, Oladipupo Atandare and Latifat Yusuf, have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking offences. They are now in police custody.
Mr Atandare, 50, of Dagenham, and Ms Yusuf, 44, of Hornchurch, were first arraigned at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on August 8, after their arrest on August 5.
The duo will be arraigned before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 7.
A collaborative investigation between police in the UK and Nigeria’s anti-narcotics agency led to the arrest of Mr Atandare and Ms Yusuf.
On Tuesday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency captured an alleged drug baron, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, aka KC Luxury, confiscating 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine, foreign currencies, jewellery and exotic cars among other things. He was identified as the Nigerian arrowhead of a drug cartel.
KC Luxury was arrested on the night of August 13 while trying to fly on a business-class flight to Paris from the boarding gate at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The anti-narcotics agency alleged that €7,750, £2,800, ₦100,000 cash, and expensive jewellery were found in his possession.
