UK largest source of inward remittances to Nigeria in 2023, U.S. recorded highest outward remittance flow: CBN Data

The United Kingdom has been identified as the largest source of inward remittances to Nigeria in 2023, says the National Bureau of Statistics in its Demographic Bulletin 2023 edition released on Tuesday.
The report further indicated that data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the United Kingdom remained the largest source of inward remittances to Nigeria in 2023, contributing $12.38 billion, down from $12.76 billion in 2022.
It also showed that the United States of America recorded the highest outward remittance flow at $13.12 million in 2022.
Regarding employment trends, data from the National Electronic Labour Exchange showed that private-sector job advertisements increased from 90 in 2021 to 104 in 2022 and 150 in 2023.
The report noted a corresponding rise in the number of employers registered on the platform, though no federal government jobs were advertised during the period under review.
