Umar Kadafur declares self Nigeria’s most powerful deputy governor

Umar Kadafur of Borno has described himself as Nigeria’s most powerful deputy governor.
Mr Kadafur commended Governor Babagana Zulum for allowing him and others to serve in his cabinet, pointing out the governor gave him the opportunity to be the most powerful deputy governor in Nigeria.
According to the Borno deputy governor, Mr Zulum allowed him to participate in many occasions attended by governors, enabling him to gain more experience in leadership.
Meanwhile, Mr Zulum has dissolved the state executive council and directed outgoing commissioners to list their achievements in their handover notes.
The governor, who announced the dissolution shortly after a valedictory session on Thursday in Maiduguri, asked the commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their ministries, citing their challenges, projects completed and uncompleted in the notes.
The Borno governor lauded them for their contribution to the success of his administration and wished them the best in their future endeavours.
Mr Zulum would be sworn in on Monday for a second term.
