A final year part-time student of the University of Benin, Edo, was shot dead on Sunday.

He was shot dead in front of the school’s main gate while in a car.

Gunmen, driving in another vehicle, reportedly trailed the yet-to-be-identified student before attacking him in his GLK SUV near the university’s main gate.

Checks showed the victim was a Political Science Department student who had just completed a semester examination before the fatal attack.

Also, a female student of the institution was reportedly struck by a bullet. The student, reportedly from the Biochemistry Department, was taken to the hospital immediately.
