The University of Calabar (UniCal) has cautioned members of the university community against trespassing in green areas within the campus.
The registrar, Chukwuka Icha, said in a statement on Wednesday in Calabar that the university management would impose sanctions on anyone found trespassing on the green areas.
Upon assuming duty, the new vice chancellor, Offiong Offiong, expressed his commitment to protecting green areas within the university.
Meanwhile, Mr Icha expressed concern over the misuse and poor maintenance of green spaces within the university, describing it as “unfortunate.”
“Every member of the university community is to strictly comply with the directive to protect and restore the green environment.
“Anyone found walking on green areas will be subjected to appropriate sanctions,” he said.
