The University of Lagos has extended the deadline for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates in the 2026/2027 admission exercise to upload results on its official portal and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) central admission processing system.

UNILAG Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Abosede Wickliffe, said in a statement on Tuesday that the deadline, initially slated for Wednesday, has now been fixed for August 24, 2026.

Ms Wickliffe said, “This is to inform all prospective UTME candidates for the 2026/2027 admission exercise that the deadline for uploading WAEC, NECO, GCE and Cambridge O’Level results on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the University of Lagos Portal has been extended to Monday, August 24, 2026.”

She advised candidates to “Ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded on both JAMB CAPS and the University of Lagos portal (for backup purposes) on or before the stipulated deadline.

“Confirm on JAMB CAPS that their results have been successfully uploaded by refreshing the CAPS page to ensure that the uploaded results are fully and correctly reflected on the system. Please note that candidates whose O’Level results are not properly reflected on JAMB CAPS by the deadline will not be considered for admission.”

She also advised the candidates to regularly check the university’s website and other official communication channels for updates on the admissions process.

The extension followed the institution’s alleged portal glitch, which left many candidates stranded and unable to upload their results as the initial Wednesday deadline approached.
