University of Lagos says disrupted power and internet supply have been fully restored following a fire that blazed through the facility.

A statement by the university stated that “due to a fire incident at the facility on Monday, 10 August 2026, and the subsequent disruption of internet connectivity and some e-services.”

The statement said that although power had been restored at the facility, internet connectivity had not yet been fully restored due to fire-related damage.

“Power supply to the Data Centre has been fully restored and stabilised. However, internet services cannot be fully restored yet because two core devices responsible for receiving and distributing internet across campus failed to boot.

“Preliminary assessment indicates that they were damaged by heat from the fire. Arrangements are being made to procure temporary replacements for the damaged devices to ensure restoration of internet services as soon as possible,” the statement said.
