UniOsun to join ASUU strike on Tuesday

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Osun State University branch, on Monday said it would join the two-week warning strike directed by the national body of the union.
Weinde Olaosebikan, UniOsun ASUU chairman, disclosed this in Osogbo.
“The strike is a directive to all branches of ASUU nationwide; therefore, all branches of ASUU must join and must comply maximally.
“UniOsun ASUU will join the strike. There is no division among our members. We are going to issue a directive before noon. The strike is commencing at 12 midnight today.
“All academic activities have to be suspended until the end of the two-week warning strike,” he said.
National president of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, at a news conference at the University of Abuja on Sunday, directed ASUU members in all public universities to embark on a nationwide two-week warning strike.
Mr Piwuna gave the directive after the ultimatum issued to the federal government to meet their demands had elapsed on Sunday.
