Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, is to chair the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State Governorship National Campaign Council and its sub committees.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

According to Mr Morka, the council has Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, as co-chairmen.

He said the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, would serve as deputy chairman of the council while Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, is its secretary.

Mr Morka said the council comprised eminent party leaders, governors, members of its National Working Committee (NWC), principal officers of the national assembly, ministers and federal and state lawmakers among others.

He added that members of the council were drawn from across the country to drive the party’s campaign towards victory in the Osun State governorship election slated for August 15.

“To ensure seamless co-ordination and effective execution of campaign activities, the party has also constituted specialised sub-committees,” the APC national publicity secretary said.

The committes are the election planning and management; finance and resource mobilisation; contact, grassroots engagement and mobilisation; logistics and campaign management. Others are monitoring and compliance; protocol, media and publicity and security among others.

The Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, is also member of the council. While Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the chairman of  finance and resource mobilisation committee for the forthcoming Osun governorship poll, Mr Adedeji will serve as the committee’s secretary.
