Veteran actor ‘Papa Ajasco’ is dead

Veteran actor Femi Ogurombi, popularly known as ‘Papa Ajasco’, has passed away.
He died on Saturday January 14, according to a social post shared by associate and theatre practitioner Husseini Shaibu.
“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead” Mr Hussein said in an early morning tweet on Sunday.
The cause of the sexegenarian’s death is yet to be publicly ascertained.
In 2006, Mr Ogunrombi came to national limelight for his role in the Wale Adenuga Productions TV series, ‘Papa Ajasco and Company’.
Originally from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mr Ogunrombi was born in Ife, Osun State, and later moved to Lagos in the 70s with his parents.
Also a professional nurse, Mr Ogunrombi obtained a degree in Dramatic Arts from the Obafemi Awolowo University in the early 80s. He was a multi-instrumentalist, music teacher, composer, actor,producer and director of music/film.
