Volleyball Division One: Wikki Spikers trash Oluyole Spikers 3-0 to record first win

Wikki Spikers of Bauchi on Saturday defeated Oluyole Spikers of Oyo 3-0 to record their first win in the second phase of the National Volleyball Division One League.

In the first match of the second phase of the League One, Wikki Spikers defeated their opponents, Oluyole, in three sets to win their first game.

They won the first set 25-17, the second set 26-24 and the third set 25-18 to make the score 3-0 to show their supremacy in the game.

Speaking after the match, Wikki Spikers coach, Mudi Mohammed, said he will win all his matches in the second phase of League One.

“I’m happy for winning my first match and I will address my team again. I saw some lapses that I am going to work on with my team for our next match,” adding that “I will win all my subsequent matches.”

In the second match of the day, one of the National Volleyball Division One League, Kada Kings of Kaduna defeated Spartans VC of Yola 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-18).

On day two, Sunday Spartans VC of Yola will meet Equity Spikers of Kebbi in the first match; Kwara United will play Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto in the second match.

Wikki Spikers will face ABM of Katsina in the third match while Oluyole Spikers of Oyo will play Kada Kings of Kaduna in the last match.

A total of 10 teams are participating in the league, namely, Kada Kings of Kaduna, Wikki Spikers of Bauchi, Kwara United, ABM of Kastina, Oluyole Spikers of Oyo, Spartans Spikers of Yola, Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto and Equity Spikers of Kebbi.

The above are the men’s team, while the only two female teams are Kwara United and Zamfara Babes.

The second phase of the National Volleyball Division One League which started on November 20 is expected to end on November 28.
