The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Lagos has received an additional operational vehicle from a stakeholder to strengthen its capacity to investigate fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes.

The Commissioner of Police, PSFU, Eloho Okpoziakpo, disclosed this in a statement by the unit’s spokesperson, DSP Ovie Ewhubare, on Tuesday in Lagos.

Mr Okpoziakpo described the donation as a demonstration of the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and well-meaning Nigerians in tackling economic and financial crimes.

He said the donation would significantly improve the unit’s operational logistics, enhance detectives’ mobility and facilitate intelligence-led operations across the country.

The PSFU boss noted that the gesture reflected the confidence stakeholders reposed in the PSFU and underscored the positive impact of collaborative policing.

He added that the donation aligned with the strategic vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to strengthen policing through improved logistics, stakeholder collaboration and enhanced service delivery.

”The fight against fraud is a collective responsibility and well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organisations and development partners should continue to support the police with resources and credible information.

”This will help us a great deal in combating the increasingly sophisticated financial crimes,” he said.

He also charged officers of the unit to make prudent and professional use of operational assets, and maintain the highest standards of integrity, accountability and discipline.

The CP warned that misconduct or abuse of operational resources would not be tolerated.

He further reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and the protection of Nigeria’s financial ecosystem, through sustained collaboration with stakeholders.
