“Insecurity has been on the increase both in cities and in villages. What started as hearsay has become a reality,” Rarara sang.

Weeks after praising President Muhammadu Buhari at the APC national convention, popular northern singer, Dauda kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, has, in his new song, called out the president for failing to protect Nigerians from bandits and other rampaging criminals.

“Only few people now reason with you. Insecurity has been on the increase both in cities and in villages. What started as hearsay has become a reality,” Rarara sang. “Our wish is to see that we put things back on track.”

The new song became popular after Rarara’s spokesperson, Rabi’u Garba Gaya, posted it on his Facebook page.

Other artistes featured in the song, including Aminu Ladan Ala, Nura M Inuwa and Ali Isa Jita, under the 13-13 Kannywood label.

Rarara also served as director of music for the Buhari 2019 presidential support committee and, in 2020, asked the public to donate N1,000 each to sponsor his new song detailing the achievement of Mr Buhari.

Rarara’s support for Mr Buhari has earned him criticism.

He narrowly escaped a mob attack in Katsina central market where he was shooting the video of his latest song, ‘Jahata ce’.
