The caretaker committee chairman, Benue All Progressive Congress (APC), Benjamin Omale, said the committee has achieved very significant peace and unity within the party.

Mr Omale, who made the disclosure on Friday in Makurdi, said that the party leaders were also engaging themselves to achieve maximum peace and unity.

The chairman explained that the committee’s single mandate was to broker peace.

He assured that after their six-month term, the party would emerge as an indivisible entity.

He commended APC supporters for their unwavering support before, during, and after the just concluded local government election that the party won all the seats.

The chairman further commended journalists for their professionalism and cordial working relationship between the party and media.

“Your fair coverage contributed significantly to the APC’s success, a testament to Governor Hyacinth Alia’s exceptional leadership.

“Under Mr Alia’s visionary leadership, the state is experiencing transformative growth: job opportunities, infrastructural development, education, healthcare, security, prompt salary and pension payments, investments, and digital technology enhancements.

“As we forge this partnership, we encourage the media to deepen professionalism, ensuring accuracy and correctness in reporting. Hasty or inaccurate reports can lead to misinformation and reputational damage.

“Maintain the distinction between facts and opinions, utilise trained reporters, and publish correct information. By doing so, we can ensure excellent communication and strengthen our partnership.”

Mr Omale urged the people to harness the media’s potential to build peace, address youth restiveness, and drive developmental processes.

The state caretaker secretary, Bem Angwe, said the emergence of the committee was a direct resolve of President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the party to end the crisis in the state.

Mr Angwe said the committee had a very clear mandate, which was to unite the members and oversee the affairs of the party within six months.

He restated the committee’s commitment to uniting all party members and ensuring strict discipline within the party.

He said the president demonstrated his love for Benue people by appointing her sons and daughters into key offices.
