We’ve received Davido’s N250 million donation: Orphanages

Some orphanages reached by Peoples Gazette have confirmed receipt of donations announced by Nigerian singer Davido in commemoration of his birthday.
The superstar artist had in November, 2021 promised to donate the N250 million amassed from fans, supporters and himself, to orphanages around Nigeria.
Following up on his decision, Davido posted details of the 292 beneficiary orphanages on his Twitter handle and Instagram stories. He said it was for the purpose of transparency and accountability.
The orphanages, spread across 28 states in Nigeria, received funds from the singer through a five-man disbursement committee that was set up by Davido.
The funds, which could be estimated at 24,914.2 per child, was distributed based on the number of children per orphanage.
Although they refused to divulge further details, the orphanages reached by The Gazette confirmed that they had indeed received the funds from Davido.
