White House says Iran’s 10-point plan provides basis for talks

The 10-point plan submitted by Iran to end the conflict provides a basis for further negotiations, U.S. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said.
“President Trump’s words speak for themselves: this is a workable basis to negotiate, and those negotiations will continue,” she added.
Ms Leavitt reiterated that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil and gas trade, was due to Trump’s efforts.
She said the president, working with the U.S. military, “got Iran to agree to reopening” the waterway.
The United States and Iran agreed to a ceasefire shortly before the expiration of a deadline set by Mr Trump, who had threatened major attacks on Iran’s energy sector unless Tehran reopened the strait by 0000 GMT on Wednesday.
Both sides announced the truce shortly before the deadline.
Mr Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran’s 10-point plan offers a “workable basis” for negotiations.
