Wolves cage Haaland; stun Manchester City with first EPL defeat

Wolverhampton at Molineux Stadium, on Saturday, ended defending champions Manchester City’s perfect start in the English Premier League this season.
City’s goal poacher Erling Haaland had just 15 touches as Wolves put up a superb performance to emerge victorious.
Coming from Carabao exit, City, with six wins in the EPL this season, could not continue with their perfect start in the EPL as Wolves won 2-1 at Molineux.
A Ruben Dias own goal gave the home side an early lead in the 13th minute, leaving City behind into the first half break.
Pep Guardiola’s boys came in much stronger into the second half, pushing harder for an equaliser. City’s hard work paid off as Julian Alvarez curled in a brilliant free-kick in the 58th minute.
But, Wolverhampton will not share points with City. Hwang Hee-chan did the damage for Wolves, scoring in the 66th minute.
Uninspiring City dominated the game, controlling 69 ball possession against Wolves’ 31 but it could not save them from their first defeat of the season.
With six wins in seven games and 17 points, City are atop the EPL, ahead of Liverpool with two points.
