Women in business, politics summit to honour 10 Nigerian women

Ten Nigerian women from business, politics and other fields are set to receive honours at the Women in Business and Politics Summit 2026 in Abuja.
The summit is scheduled for August 21.
The summit coordinator, Hassie Oyama, said this in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
She said the honourees were selected for their contributions, leadership and impact across various sectors.
Those listed for the honours include Nancy Iloh, Chioma Onyekaba, Funmi Ajila-Ladipo and Aisha Achimugu.
Others are Halima Shuaibu-Kurfi, Hasfat Balewa, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Ima Kurfi, Hilda Titiloye and Chinenye Kester-Agwu.
Ms Oyama said the specific honours and citations would be unveiled at the event.
She said the recognition reflected the summit’s commitment to celebrating women whose achievements and leadership contributed to national development.
According to her, the summit will bring together women leaders, business executives, political figures, entrepreneurs, professionals and other stakeholders.
She said discussions would focus on leadership, enterprise, public service, empowerment and the role of women in national development.
Ms Oyama said the honours would be a major highlight of the summit, providing an opportunity to celebrate women whose contributions deserved recognition.
She said the event would also provide opportunities for networking and discussions on issues affecting women in business and politics.
