Yobe declares Wednesday work-free day to honour late ex-Governor Bukar

Governor Mai Mala Buni has declared Wednesday a work-free day to mark three-day prayers for late ex-Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim.
Mamman Mohammed, spokesman for Mr Buni, announced this while addressing journalists on Tuesday in Damaturu.
He said the day was set aside to offer prayers for the former governor who died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
According to him, the three-day prayers would be offered at the Government House Mosque, Damaturu.
Mr Mohammed said the Yobe government officially took over the funeral rites to honour the late governor.
He also explained that Mr Buni, in the company of government officials and the late governor’s family, has been receiving condolences from sympathisers from within and outside Yobe at the Government House, Damaturu.
