The wife of Kogi governor Sefinat Ododo donated consumables, cash, and other items to more than 200 pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients at Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH) Lokoja on Tuesday.

Mrs Ododo appreciated the women for supporting her husband by voting for him during the last governorship election.

She noted that her visit to the hospital was a promise fulfilled and a testament to her commitment to touching the lives of women and children, especially the vulnerable.

Mrs Ododo stressed that the gesture was intended to alleviate the financial and medical challenges faced by vulnerable groups and bring smiles to their faces.

The governor’s wife commended the hospital staff and management for taking good and adequate care of the pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients.

Mrs Ododo promised to extend the gesture to other hospitals across the state and touch the lives of vulnerable women and children at the grassroots level.

“I am here to support our pregnant women, nursing mothers, and vulnerable patients in this hospital, and I am urging you to continue to support and pray for my husband for him to succeed,” she said.

The governor’s wife advised the women to respect their husbands, continually support and pray for them, and have a good relationship with their children.

She further reaffirmed the commitment and dedication of her office to improving the lives of women, children, and vulnerable and underprivileged communities.

Earlier, KSSH chief medical director (CMD), Adagiri Yahaya, commended Mrs Ododo for reaching out to patients at the hospital from time to time.

The CMD also thanked Governor Ahmed Ododo for his unwavering support of the hospital and the people, especially the vulnerable.

Hauwa Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed their gratitude to the governor’s wife for reaching out to them during the festive season, saying it would greatly ease their financial burden.
