The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 19 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Lagos ports.

The NPA disclosed this in its daily publication, Shipping Position, made available to journalists on Saturday in Lagos.

It stated that the vessels were discharging at Apapa, Lekki, and Tin-Can Island ports.

According to the authority, the ships are laden with aviation fuel, petrol, diesel, bulk gas, bulk wheat, and other cargoes.

Other items being discharged include base oil, bulk urea, fresh fish, bulk fertiliser, soya beans, gasoline, containers, and general cargo.

The NPA also said that 44 ships carrying petroleum products, food items, and other goods were expected at the Lagos ports between April 11 and April 20.

It said the expected vessels would convey general cargo, bulk wheat, bulk gas, crude oil, bulk fertiliser, petrol, aviation fuel, diesel, bulk urea, and containerised goods.

The authority further stated that 10 ships had arrived at the ports and were waiting to berth with bulk gypsum, base oil, diesel, bulk stock, and gasoline.
