2021 Grammy Awards postponed as COVID-19 ravages the world

The 63rd Grammy Awards has been postponed due to surging numbers of COVID-19 infections in the United States of America.
List of nominees for this year’s Grammy was released in November last year with Nigerian artist Burna Boy nominated in the Best Global Music category.Â
The awards earlier scheduled to be held at Los Angeles on January 31 has now been postponed to March due to COVID-19 concerns, New York Times reported on Tuesday.Â
COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted social and economic life in the last one year, forcing postponement or outright cancellation of major sport, entertainment and religious events around the world.
The United States has suffered lots of devastation as COVID-19 rages. Over 21million cases of coronavirus have been reported in the United States, while over 360,000 persons have been killed by the deadly virus.
Globally, over 86milion COVID-19 cases have been recorded with the virus killing over 1.8million.
