Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has said it remitted N4.520 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria as Hajj fare for some of the 2025 intending pilgrims from the state.

The Director-General of the Board, Ahmed Labbo, disclosed this on Thursday in Dutse.

Mr Labbo said that the board had distributed the state’s allocation of 1,518 hajj seats to the 27 local government areas for onward sales to intending pilgrims.

According to him, the board is expected to remit more hajj fare to NAHCON before the deadline, as intending pilgrims continue to make more payments.

The DG, however, advised the intending pilgrims to put in an effort to settle their hajj fare before the February 10, 2025, deadline set by NAHCON to avoid exclusion from the 2025 hajj exercise.

“The board will soon commence hajj orientation sessions across designated centres, to be conducted by some Islamic scholars, based on the tradition of the annual hajj exercise,” Mr Labbo said.

The DG advised the intending pilgrims to equip themselves with enough knowledge on the proceedings of the exercise at all levels.

Mr Labbo, who advised them to adopt patience as their companion throughout the exercise, urged them to adhere to the guidelines provided by the board throughout the process.

About 1,518 pilgrims from Jigawa State are expected to participate in the 2025 hajj.
