2026 World Cup: Algeria beat Jordan 2-1
The Desert Foxes of Algeria, on Tuesday, kept their hopes of qualification into the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup alive by knocking debutants Jordan out of the tournament.
The two-time African champions came back from a goal down to win 2-1 in their second Group I match at Levi’s Stadium in California, United States.
Nizar Ahmed Al-Rashdan put Jordan in front in the 36th minute. In the second half, Algeria’s Nadhir Benbouali drew level in the 69th minute, before Amine Gouiri sealed the three points for the Africans in the 82nd minute.
