21 passengers die in latest Egypt’s bus accident
At least 21 people have been confirmed dead following a bus accident in the South Sinai area of Egypt on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred near the Al-Saada area on the Dahab-Nuweibaa road close to Nuweibaa where the vehicle overturned.
Reports noted that the bus carried 43 passengers, including 22 Jordanians. Ten of the victims were Jordanian nationals.
Twenty-nine other individuals were left injured from the accident and were taken to hospitals.
Egypt’s health ministry said that about 20 ambulances were deployed to the scene to aid rescue efforts.
The Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, also ordered medical officials to provide adequate care and support to the injured victims while monitoring their conditions.
Last month, the country reported 18 casualties following a road crash that also left 32 other individuals injured in the Northeastern governorate of Ismailia.
