23-year-old Ghanaian woman Paulina Okyere dies in Canada’s multiple auto crash
A 23-year-old Ghanaian woman based in Canada, Paulina Okyere, has died in a three-vehicle collision that injured two other people in Ontario on Saturday.
It was gathered that the incident happened about 7:00 a.m. when law enforcement officers from the Ontario Provincial Police – Whitby were called to a scene of an accident on Highway 12 in Brock Township.
Police said that Ms Okyere was the only occupants of one of the three vehicles that was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, while the driver and the only occupant of the second car was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.
Meanwhile, the driver of the third vehicle, which they were occupied alone, was reportedly rushed to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains unclear as authorities deployed the OPP Highway Safety Division Traffic Support Unit to assist with the ongoing investigation.
A GoFundMe page created by Hailey Napholc, a family friend of Ms Okyere, described her death as tragic and appealed for donations to cover the deceased’s funeral expenses.
“My name is Hailey Napholc, and I am a family friend of Paulina Okyere, who tragically passed away in a fatal car accident on Highway 12 on her way home from work on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
“I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of the Okyere family to help raise money for Paulina’s funeral expenses during this incredibly difficult time,” the page read.
The GoFundMe page said Ms Okyere “was only 23 years young, with the most beautiful soul and the biggest smile in any room.”
