The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 2,500 operatives across Kaduna to ensure adequate security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The NSCDC commandant in Kaduna, Panam Musa, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Mr Musa said the deployment was aimed at safeguarding lives and property as well as protecting critical national assets and infrastructure before, during and after the festive period.

He warned criminals and other miscreants to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that NSCDC personnel had been strategically stationed across the state to guarantee a peaceful sallah celebration.

The commandant also emphasised the need for professionalism and integrity among officers and men of the corps, noting that any personnel found compromising their duties would face disciplinary action in accordance with extant laws.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities in their communities to security agencies for prompt intervention.

Mr Musa congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr and advised them to celebrate peacefully, promote harmony and avoid actions capable of breaching public peace.

He assured residents of the command’s commitment to maintaining security across the state throughout the celebration.
