NNPP suspends Bauchi acting chairman

The New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) has suspended its Bauchi State acting chairman, Sani Shehu, for alleged gross misconduct indefinitely.
The North-East zonal secretary of the party, Babayo Liman, made the announcement at a news briefing on Wednesday in Bauchi.
Mr Liman said the acting chairman was suspended because he lacked commitment to the party’s ideals and showed disrespect and complete arrogance to the party’s national, zonal, and state officials.
He said that after reviewing the allegations against the state acting chairman, he was issued a query, but he refused to collect it.
“He refused to collect the query, and we had no other option than to suspend him from office to move the party forward,” Mr Liman said.
When contacted, Mr Shehu said he was unaware of the suspension.
“I am not aware and I have nothing to do with the said suspension. Therefore, I remain the acting chairman of the party in Bauchi state,” he said.
