Like Tinubu, I’d have sent my running-mate, Kwankwaso apologises to NBA

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has apologised to the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for his absence at their annual general conference, held in Lagos on Monday.
Mr Kwankwaso, like the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had failed to show up at the Eko Atlantic City venue of the NBA conference.
Mr Tinubu, however, seconded his running mate, Kashim Shettima, to the event which was attended by another presidential flag bearers; Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the LP.
The NNPP presidential candidate hinged his inability to attend the event to a result of other pressing national commitment.
“Under the circumstance, I would have sent my running mate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, to represent me and share our perspectives for a new and prosperous Nigeria. But unfortunately, he is outside the country at the moment.
“I therefore wish to extend my sincere apology for my inability to attend and assure you that the New Nigeria People’s Party share a common vision with the NBA towards a common vision of peace, unity and prosperity of our beloved country,” Mr Kwakwanso said in a letter.
Nigerians have been condemning the two absentees particularly Mr Tinubu for failing to attend the Lagos event to personally share the direction of their government if elected at next year’s polls.
