Some traditional rulers in Nasarawa State have commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for infrastructure development.

The district head of Betti, Karshi Development Area of the state, Haruna Umaru, noted that rural road constructions across the state by the present administration would check rural-urban migration and poverty and improve the lives of the rural dwellers.

They spoke with journalists on Saturday in their palaces in Betti, Nike and Angwan Toni of the Karshi Development Area of the state.

They commended Mr Sule for the ongoing construction of the nine-kilometre Gauta/ Nike road to boost the socio-economic activities of the area’s people.

Mr Umaru said that the construction of the road, if completed, would boost agricultural production and revenue base and improve the standard of living of the people of the area and its environs.

“We thank the governor for coming to our aid as the construction of the road will boost our socio-economic activities and standard of living,” he said

Also, Abdullahi Bala, the village head of Nike, said, “before now, if one is coming from Keffi to Nike, you will spend more than two hours, but now, with the construction of the road, you will just spend 15 minutes.”

Abdullahi Mairiga, the village head of Angwan Toni, also thanked the governor for improving the standard of living through the road’s construction.

The traditional rulers also commended Mohammed Isah Bello, the member representing the Uke/ Karshi Constituency at the state house of assembly, for his contributions to the constituency’s development.

The traditional rulers further urged their subjects and others to co-exist peacefully for development to thrive.

The traditional rulers appealed to the governor to provide electricity, health, water and more classrooms in Nike primary school.

Adamu Soja, the Fulani leader in the Nike community, also appreciated the governor for constructing the road and appealed to him to build a nomadic school.
