An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Thursday, remanded Idowu Olamide, for alleged fraud of N1.8 million.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between March and December 2022 at ARIKADIS Nig. Ltd., Mokuro Road, Ile-Ife.

Mr Osanyintuyi said the defendant converted the total sum of N1,809,000.00, being the proceed of his sales as clerk of ARIKADIS Nig. Ltd. to personal use.

He added that the offence contravened sections 383(3) and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to one-count charge of fraud.

Magistrate O. B. Adediwura did not grant bail to the defendant, but asked him to come with formal application for his bail.

Mr Adediwura thereafter ordered Mr Olamide to be remanded at the Correctional Centre in Ile-Ife, pending the consideration of his bail.

Mr Adediwura adjourned the case till February 2, for mention.
