Ade Omole, an advocate of the Renewed Hope Global, says the best of Nigeria is not behind but ahead with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said this in an interview on Thursday in Abuja while speaking on Mr Tinubu’s recent spiritual journey to Mecca.

He described it as a significant act of faith and leadership.

Mr Omole said the trip showed a president who, in the thick of a campaign, paused to place the nation in God’s hands and returned to drive the work forward with renewed vigour.

Mr Tinubu, who had since returned to the country, performed Umrah, the lesser hajj at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, on October 30.

The president had offered prayers of thanksgiving and sought divine guidance for lasting peace, national unity, security and continued prosperity for Nigeria and all Nigerians.

Mr Omole said what Nigerians witnessed in Mecca was not a photo opportunity but a father of the nation on his knees for his people.

“Before the president asked Nigerians for anything, he first went to ask Almighty God for everything Nigeria needs: peace, unity, security and prosperity, that is the measure of the man.

“The president went to Makkah and prayed for Nigeria. He has returned home ready to continue working for Nigeria and Nigerians. With God on our side and the people by our side, the Renewed Hope mission cannot be stopped. The best of Nigeria is not behind us; it is ahead of us,” Mr Omole said.

He stated that this was not the first time the president had turned to prayer at a defining moment.

He maintained that in both faith and leadership, prayer came first, then the work, adding that every good thing in life was preceded by prayer.

He said with Mr Tinubu’s return from Makkah to the country, his re-election campaign, already well under way, now moves into top gear as prayers had been offered and the direction was clear.

Speaking on concerns that the campaign season could distract the administration, Mr Omole assured that the business of governance would continue without interruption.

According to him, Nigerians would not have to choose between a campaigning president and a working one, adding that governance would not suffer because of campaigns.

He listed the bold reforms of the Tinubu-led Renewed Hope administration to include the removal of the petrol subsidy, the unification of the exchange rate and the overhaul of the country’s tax system.

Mr Omole also listed the student loan scheme that was opening the doors of higher education to young Nigerians and major ongoing infrastructure projects across the country, among others.

According to Mr Omole, these were hard decisions that previous governments avoided for decades, which Mr Tinubu took on because he chose Nigeria’s future over the comfort of the moment.

“Nigerians have made sacrifices, and the time is coming for those sacrifices to bear full fruit. That is why continuity matters; you do not change the pilot when the plane is climbing,” Mr Omole said.
