Ohinoyi of Ebiraland: Emir of Kano pays Gov Bello condolence visit

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, thanked the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, for deeming it fit to condole with the state over the death of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.

 Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on Sunday received the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, who paid him a condolence over the death of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.

During the visit to the Government House, Lokoja, Bayero told the governor that he was in the state to sympathise with him, the government and people of Kogi State following the passing of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr Ado Ibrahim, on October 29.

The Emir conveyed the condolence of the Kano Emirates to the residents of Kogi and commended Bello for fostering and maintaining strong relationships with traditional rulers in the state.

Mr Bello thanked the Emir and the Emirates Council for their condolences and the effort of undertaking a considerable journey to offer their support.

Mr Bello lauded the late monarch for his influential and exemplary life, worthy of emulation by all and sundry.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for deeming it fit to condole with us and for embarking on such a significant journey from Kano to Kogi State.

 “We truly value this expression of love. The late Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, led an honourable life and left an indelible impact on the lives of his people during his time,’’ he said.

Bello reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.

 According to him, such commitment will be upheld by his successor by the Grace of God.

He emphasised the cordial relationship and cooperation between the government and the traditional rulers in Kogi with a focus on the greater welfare of the people.

Mr Bello expressed satisfaction with the harmonious relationships established by the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland with the Kano Emirates and traditional rulers across Nigeria.

 Born on February 7, 1929,  Ado Ibrahim was the fourth traditional ruler and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, who had a strong foundation in Islamic knowledge.

 He was an economist and held a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a master’s from the Harvard Business School in 1954 and 1959, respectively.

The monarch died on October 29 at 94.
