Babatunde Alfa, the church’s found, was found guilty alongside other 5 members today on a two-count charge of conspiracy as well as aiding and abetting kidnapping.

The presiding judge, Olusegun Odusola, said prosecutors have proved beyond reasonable doubt that the suspects committed the offences.

The judge also slammed the police of being complicit in the kidnap controversy.

Mr. Babatunde’s case went on trial on November 12, 2019 when the police arrested him along other six members amidst disappearance of Kolawole Gold.

Reports said he went missing while playing with other kids who were at the church’s creche on November 10, 2019, as the service was in progress.

Mr. Babatunde was accused by the parents of the missing child over the mysterious disappearance of their son who has not been seen till date.

The judge also discharged one of the member who was arraigned among other five after he could not prove any case against him.
