“While this slight change is regretted, it is totally out of the control of the state pilgrims board or the local authorities.”

The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Board says the inaugural flight from the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin for the 2024 Muslim pilgrimage will now be on Tuesday.

The board, however, added in Ilorin on Sunday that further information would soon be released to guide all its pilgrims and the general public.

Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, the board’s executive secretary, told journalists that pilgrims from Kwara had initially been scheduled to have their first flight on Monday.

“But the change in the date was from National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and airlines, owing to delays in the initial plans.

“While this slight change is regretted, it is totally out of the control of the state pilgrims board or the local authorities.

“What this change means is that our pilgrims should not come to the camp today (Sunday) again as earlier announced.

“They should come on Monday 20, ahead of their inaugural flight on Tuesday at 10:20 a.m.

“This however affects only the intending pilgrims whose names were earlier scheduled for the inaugural flight,” Mr Abdulsalam said.
