Fire guts Kano commissioner’s home, daughter, elder sister, brother’s Wife killed

The cause of the fire had yet to be known.

The house of the Kano State Commissioner of Higher Education, Yusuf Kofar-Mata, has been gutted by fire.

Mr Kofar-Mata in a facebook post said that his daughter, Maimuna; elder sister, Khadija; and brother’s wife, Juwairiyya, were killed in the fire outbreak.

He wrote, “May God grant my daughter, Maimuna (Islam), and my sister whom I follow, Hajiya Khadija; and my elder brother’s wife, Juwariyya death. Their burial will take place today at 11am (11.00am), at Sheikh Ahmad Tijani Mosque in Kofarmata. May Allah have mercy on them, and forgive them, Amen O Lord.”

It was gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday while his family was fast asleep and destroyed several valuables.

The cause of the inferno has yet to be ascertained.
