Kwara senator empowers 100 youths with digital skills

Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Salihu Mustapha, has empowered 100 Kwara youths with digital skills.
The youths were empowered during a two-day workshop organised for Kwara youths by the Saliu Mustapha Foundation to commemorate the 2024 International Youth Day.
The event was held on August 12, but the empowerment programme titled, “Youth digital pathway for sustainable development,” took place on Monday in Ilorin.
Addressing the participants via zoom, Mr Mustapha lauded the youths for seizing the opportunity which would add to their skills and impact their lives positively.
Mr Mustapha, who is also the Turaki of Ilorin, emphasised the need for the youth to leverage opportunities in the digital economy to attain self-sufficiency.
He reiterated his commitment to uplifting young people in Kwara Central and Nigeria at large.
He said, “I commend the resilience of Nigerian youths and their accomplishments in various fields. Their significant contributions to national and global progress are greatly appreciated.’’.
He also advised the youth to channel their knowledge and skills into ventures that would develop society and country at large.
Represented by Abdulkareem Alabi, the senator said that the training was the second in the series by the foundation.
He said the skills acquired would add value to the participants, and commended the large turnout.
He also enjoined the youth to effectively utilise the knowledge gained.
The participants were trained in photography, videography, digital marketing, content-creation and social media management.
