FBI declares two suspects wanted for $642 million fraud
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has declared Khalid Ahmed Satary and Emylee Thai wanted for their role in a $642 million fraud.
Kash Patel, the FBI director, announced at a press conference on Tuesday that both wanted persons had been on the run since 2022.
The FBI director explained that the suspects replaced the two arrested wanted fugitives, who were among America’s most-wanted fraudsters.
He said, “Khalid Ahmed Satary is wanted for his alleged involvement in a $547 million health care fraud conspiracy.
“Emylee Thai was charged by indictment with conspiracy to commit health care fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and pay and receive health care kickbacks, and payment of kickbacks in connection with a federal health care programme.”
He added that Mrs Thai’s laboratory billed Medicare approximately $142 million for genetic testing and was paid approximately $95 million on those claims.
