Corps members should accept anywhere they’re posted in good faith: NYSC

NYSC has directed corps members to accept anywhere they are posted in good faith amid the continued deterioration of insecurity across Nigeria.

• June 7, 2021

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has directed corps members to accept anywhere they are posted in good faith amid the continued deterioration of insecurity across Nigeria.

Specifically, the Plateau NYSC State Coordinator, Caroline Embu, stated this on Monday in Mangu at the closing and passing out ceremony of the 2021 batch ‘A’ stream ll corps members, marking the end of the orientation course.

The state coordinator warned the corps members to shun unnecessary and unauthorised journeys and night journeys as the management frowned against such behaviour.

She also warned them to desist from wearing the NYSC uniform inappropriately, that the scheme would punish errant corps members.

She then urged the corps members to accept their posting to the various local government areas of the state in good faith.

Ms Embu said the government had worked out modalities in synergy with security agencies in the state to safeguard the corps members.

Ms Embu also tasked the corps members to offer selfless service and promote unity in their host communities.

She called on them to serve as ambassadors of the scheme.

She urged them to participate in the post-camp Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to master a skill to equip them for self-development.

She thanked the state government for supporting and creating a conducive environment for the NYSC activities in the state.
